 Summary Analysis

2.3 Analysis.htm

·         FY09 participation goals for the three evidenced based programs were met.  Percentage of achievement were:

·         Chemical Dependency 114%

·         Employment & Job Training 114%

·         Cognitive Behavioral Therapy 430%

·         The Family Centered Programs achieved 30% of the FY09 participation target.  Family members may be involved in many programs, however only offender participation is reported one time annually. Numerous local family/offender activities and events occur throughout the state each quarter that is, also, not included in our report.  In addition the following challenges occurred:

·         Priority is given to place offenders in evidenced based programs that address their assessed need(s).

·         Hiring the staff needed for full implementation was deferred due to budget constraints.

·         Participants in the Family Friendly Programs were not entered into the Resource Program Management (RPM) system; therefore, participation reported was lower than actual.

·         During Q4, community corrections staff resources were focused on implementing new legislation that required the review of all offender causes to determine eligibility for supervision closure by July 27, 2009.

Relevance

·         Evidenced based reentry programs address personal deficits that directly relate to reducing the likelihood to reoffend, increasing successful community reentry and improving public safety.

Key Actions

·         Ensure all participation is documented in RPM so program involvement is accurately reported in the future.
