6.3 - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Administration$6.9 million awarded for administration$3.4 million spent through October 2009DSHSDSHS administers an average $37/month increase in food assistance for families. Of a total $106.1 million in food assistance in October 2009, $14.77 million was due to ARRA. 430,319 individuals and families were served.
6.4 - Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)$8.9 million awarded$771,713 spent through December 6, 2009DSHSDSHS initiated Project H.I.R.E. to help job-ready individuals with disabilities obtain mid- to high-wage jobs. As of December 6, 2009, 150 are receiving services and 24 are in tentative employment.
