Summary Analysis
Overall, there has been about 43% more referrals than CLIP beds available for the period from SFY 2005 through SFY 2009.
Specific to the 6-12 years old children, the number of referrals have increased by 63% from SFY 2006 to SFY 2009 while the annual referral rate for the 13-17 years old children remains relatively stable.
The increased referrals may be influenced by the challenges of identifying the appropriate services, support, and coordination among all child-serving agencies and meeting the severity and complexity of the child's needs.
